Alexandria Verdampfer buying advice, explained (200 W)
Verdampfer advice for Alexandria, covering note breakdown, what to look for and where the trade-offs actually sit.
We spent weeks putting verdampfer options through their paces so the recommendations here reflect real use. For long-session users, the learning curve is shorter than the specification list suggests, and daily use is straightforward from the first charge.
The gap between a mid-range and a premium verdampfer narrows once you know which components you actually use. Materials are unremarkable on paper and feel reassuringly solid in the hand, with no flex in the body at all.
Pricing in Alexandria shifts with import duty, so the figures here reflect current EGP rates rather than a fixed list price. Airflow control on the IQOS III is adjustable enough to move from a warm, restrained draw to something far more open without removing the tank. Vapour production is more than adequate at 30, and pushing beyond that adds heat rather than anything worth carrying.
What surprised us most was how little the 2.0 Ω regular coil changes the draw character compared with the 20:80 PG/VG liquid sitting in the chamber. The Matte Sand finish hides fingerprints far better than the gloss options, which matters more than it sounds on a device handled daily. Worth noting that the Q-Plus takes a small amount of care to keep clean, which we cover in the maintenance section below.
If you take one thing from this page, make it the coil compatibility check. A device that needs a coil you cannot source locally becomes an expensive ornament within a month. The throat hit is noticeably firmer than a 20:80 PG/VG blend, so if you prefer a smoother draw, mix accordingly. Pricing in Alexandria shifts with import duty, so the figures here reflect current EGP rates rather than a fixed list price.
Two things to check before ordering: the Micro-USB socket on the base and whether the 2.0 Ω regular coil is the newer generation. Battery behaviour is where the IQOS III earns its keep: the 2500 mAh cell holds a usable charge for most of a day at 30 and recharges over Micro-USB. We would pair the IQOS III with a 20:80 PG/VG liquid, which is where the balance between throat hit and cloud density sits most comfortably.

Flavour and performance notes
A representative profile is Watermelon Chill: sweet, juicy, described as watermelon with a clean cooling exhale. On a 20:80 PG/VG ratio this reads clearly on the first day and holds its character to roughly the 2.0 Ω regular mark before the coil begins to mute it.
Practical considerations in Alexandria
Availability in Alexandria is the factor that decides most outcomes here. Confirm the 2.0 Ω regular and the Micro-USB are both in stock before committing, and check that the Q-Plus matches your existing device if you already own hardware. Duty and EGP rates move, so treat prices as current rather than fixed.
Take the time to get it right the first time; the difference shows up over months of use rather than days.
